So shanehaven.com now has an email. You might say, well didn’t it before? YES! Yes, it did, however I lost the password … clumsy me! So I had to create a new one. It is lame in comparison to the old one, but it will still do it’s service!

So I sat down to Vlog the other night. As I said in my previous post, I was moving towards doing that. I felt it would be easier and faster way of actually getting my ideas out there. Well I will say this, it is less work! However it takes more time. Thus I will continue with the written word. I am going to try out a new theme. I love this theme, do not get me wrong but Wordpress has just put out a new one, thus I am going to see if it is better.

Now so that way this post actually has some relevance to the outside world, I will post a photograph that I took the other day of my family’s new puppy. I think it is one of my better, if not best, shots I have ever had.

I am a bit upset at myself. I really love blogging. It is fun and it can set ones mind free. I just haven’t been able to find the time to do it recently. Yes, it makes me sad too! However as most will probably agree, school comes first. I have 32 books to read this semester plus a plethora of papers. I am working on a faster – more simpler way – to blog on here. It probably means taking some time to figure out how to turn this from a Blog to a Vlog. Don’t know the difference? Well, it is something that I have been thinking of doing for a while actually. Anyway I will see how this works out. I generally feel like I sound like an idiot on video so who knows if I go through with it. But I am still alive – my days are mainly focused on studies and basketball. Either playing ball or watching the NBA to get away from the world o studying. Maybe a little of Street Fighter IV too.

Before I get to the real content of my post I wanted to apologize for not updating on Tuesday. Although I have stated that I am going to have a schedule of posting on Tuesday and Thursday, I really want to write the posts when I come home from class on Monday and Wednesday nights. I can issue the posts to be published at a later date. I was just too tired to do so on Monday, and as well as last night, hence  why I am publishing it immediately. I should be doing homework, but the Lakers / Celtics game is on, so I probably won’t do any work today anyway. So to the content of my post.

During the Bush Administration people loved numbers. They were known as approval ratings, and other polls based on his decisions that he made. Now I know that Barack Obama is quite popular. The media loves him, and so does all of America because somehow he is Jesus and we are all saved! … OR NOT! Apparently people really don’t agree with what he has done over the first couple of weeks. Lets take a look at one thing, I have been against from day one, the closing of Guantanamo Bay. According to a recent Gallup Poll, only 44% of those asked approve of the impending closing. That means that 56% disagree with what Obama has done so far on this topic. I wasn’t asked to participate in the poll, but I am one more person who can be thrown into that 56%.  Also in a different Gallup Poll it shows that in a matter of two weeks of the Obama administration that his approval rating is already going down. Maybe it isn’t a big thing, I would suspect most if not all president approval ratings to go down as time goes on, but it is interesting to see how the media is NOT reporting this. I am about to get a bit expletive with this, but the media has its head so far up his behind that they wouldn’t be reporting these kinds of things. Now, here is another interesting thing as well. Most people would say decent job on the research. But I originally got it from Fox News. But I didn’t want to use a link to them because of course they have an agenda… but it seems their reporting on this has been straight forward. I know Republican Radio shows have also been reporting that the approval rating for the stimulus is at around 35%. But my research has not shown that. Again in a third Gallup Poll people are about even in terms of support. 38% say the current stimulus package should pass, 37% said it should, but with major changes, 17% say it should be rejected, and 8% no opinion. I am with the 37% of the population. So I am assuming this current package probably will pass. But what I am trying to get at here, is that it isn’t all fine and dandy for Barack Obama as many, if not all, media outlets are reporting.
