Haven’t posted in a while. Been too obsessed with the big black bat to have any intriguing thoughts. While i’m on that point, the Dark Knight is quite the excellent movie. It is my favorite movie actually. Recently what has been on my mind though is changing the title of my blog. Yes I know I have a domain name and all but when I started this blog I was so intrigued by the election and politics that I wanted to say a lot on it. And I do, but I say a lot about other things as well, such as movies, games, tech, philosophy, and oddball items. So I figure that even though, RightWingDude does fit me on multiple levels, I need a name that is much more general and pointed towards my thoughts. I am currently mulling over a half dozen possible .com names. I’ll still have the www.rightwingdude.com URL point to the blog as i’ll just buy a new domain name and change the title of the blog here. Well at least that is what I am considering now unless I decide to go to blogger. But I think word press is a bit more professional looking than blogger. Although with Blogger.com it is free to totally customize the webpage. At this point I am unsure but I am going to try and really get the word out about my blog once I change the name. Something I haven’t done as much as I would have liked. So one should expect a name change soon.
Watchmen Trailer Leaked + No More Photo Page

I have a funny feeling this was due out with The Dark Knight, so for those who don’t want to ruin that experience then DONT following this link right here to go and watch it. Personally I think it is pretty sick. I have never read the Watchmen Graphic Novel but now I am considering going and getting it this weekend.
In totally unrelated news I am getting rid of my photo page. I don’t update it. I will look into something else in terms of adding a link or some uploading thing to be able to view them at.
Person of the Week # 1: Josh Hamilton
Posted Tuesday July 15, 2008 at 8:06pm in Person of the Week Feature
I have been trying to decide on a feature for my blog. I didn’t want to copy my previous blog in the MotW or Movie of the Week so I have decided to go with Person of the Week or PotW. Basically I will choose a person who has made me respond in some way, in an either positive or negative way. Basically I’ll feature them and say why I chose them as such.
The first person of the week goes to Josh Hamilton of the Texas Rangers. He is an allstar CF after overcoming alcohol and drug addictions. At the All Star Break he is batting .310 with 21 HRs and 95 RBIs. The reason I chose him for the first person of the week is because he broke a record at the Homerun Derby last night by hitting 28 HRs in the first round alone. The record before that was 24 by Bobby Abreu. The thing that is so interesting about this story is that Hamilton lost the HR Derby. In the final round of the HR derby the homeruns previously hit are wiped out. And the two final contestants go at it. Hamilton, despite being an exceptional player has learned a lesson in pacing himself, or at least I hope he did.
Just hours after Russia threatened the U.S. with Military Attackes about a new missiles shield system, Iran has test fired a new missile which they call the Shahab 3. This missile, according to Time.com, would be able to reach Israel or U.S. targets that are deployed in the middle east. Attaching a Nuclear warhead to the missile would be difficult and that the warhead isn’t accurate. However I find this quite interesting as this too makes Iran more unstable. They utterly hate the United States and now have the ability to hit the U.S. troops whenever they want. That is quite a scary thought. This proves even more that we do need the missile shield whos radar will now be installed in the Czech Republic.
We all know that the U.S. and Russia have never gotten along. Even back in the Second World War there were people from the Allies, including Americans, joined up with the Nazi’s invasion of Russia. That is how unstable this relationship is. Now according to Times Online, the U.S. have reached agreement with putting a U.S. Radar for defensive purposes inside the Czech Republic. This Radar would be connected to a missile system hopefully to go into Poland. Russia doesn’t like that. Russia stated that they would take military action against the United States but didn’t say to which scale. They could attack the U.S. directly or take our targets in Europe, or just the radar. The statement of threatening the U.S. Militarily is very vague.
Personally I find this slightly disturbing. If I was Russia, I could see this time as a perfect time to go after the States. The U.S. forces are stretched right now in two massive engagements in Iraq and Iran. We have troops located all around Europe but how fast can we recall them if Russia decides to strike or invade the U.S.? Or better yet if they do strike the U.S. we have to retaliate, either by strikes or by invasion. Then we are taking the Russians on in their land, which is better for them. Then again this could be the beginnings of a second cold war where were going into a recession and some say a depression. If that is the case then we are not set up to win a second cold war. Even a more scarrier possibility could happen with Iran where Russia and Iran are becoming buddies. If Russia has reason in their eyes to strike the U.S. then they could hand over their Nukes to Iran who’s President is Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and we all know he is a nutjob who wouldn’t mind attacking U.S. interests in Europe like Israel. Anything is possible lets hope nothing comes of any of this.
