I personally think this is one of the best things that could happen to the NBA. The NBA’s most classic rivalry about to be renewed with the top players in the league. Ever since the big 3 became part of Boston I wanted to see this happen. The only problem when those deals went down, was at the time, the Lakers were going through a crisis. No one knew if their best player would even play this season much less how good the Lakers would even be. Then Bynum proved to be something fairly good and then the Gasol trade happened once Bynum got injured. Then and only did the fans truly get a chance at seeing the old rivalry be renewed. Now that many basketball fans’ wish has come true it is a great thing for the NBA. This finals series has potential to be great. Many will watch ot see these stars of the game play, but also to see how the games stack up to the old series. With so many amazing players involved, this series could be up for one of the best all time.

LETS GO LAKERS! IT all starts this Thursday!

Here at RightWingDude.com I would like to express my thanks to all the soldiers around the world that are serving under the flag of the United States. This sentiment will also extend all the way back to 1776 when the U.S. was first created. All the men and women that have fallen in the line of duty has done so, to make this country as great as it is today. All the freedoms this country enjoys wouldn’t be possible without those who either served or fell in the line of duty to preserve those freedoms. RWD wishes to thank those who served and fell to protect those freedoms. Lastly, I would like to leave this post with a picture to honor those whom have fallen in service. Personally, I have no Photoshop skills or I would create something original. I did find this image from the OC Register that does justice in my opinion as it honors those fallen from every war.

I went to the theater on Thursday to go check out one of the movies that I really wanted to see this summer. Upon watching the movie I began to ponder the film and tried to decide if I liked it or not. I have to say the film was a fun film.  It did a good job of making you feel you were in those 1950s post WWII jeeps riding along and being right in the thick of the gun fights with Indiana Jones.  At the same time I couldn’t help but think of the Disney Land ride and how it reminded me of the film.  Without giving too much away, as some reader may have yet to see the film, the movie didn’t seem like the classic Indiana Jones to me.  Now they can be over the top with what happens, but I felt that this was a bit too much.  Not to say with the issue that I am trying to address is still bold. I haven’t seen any film really suggest what it says that isn’t more of a sci fi film than Indie is. All in all I had fun seeing the movie. I wasn’t upset that I paid 10 bucks to go see the film. So I suppose it wasn’t bad. It was a good time and I am glad that I saw it in the theaters. I’d give it a 7.5 out of 10.

There was a minor leaguer and his name was John Odom.  One day, Mr. Odom got traded.  Generally a team has a goal when being traded.  It is for the team who is trading a player away to get equal value in return.  At least some for of a value. Well Mr Odom got traded for 10 baseball bats. If that is equal value, then could it be that Odom sucks? Possibly. Seriously, I feel bad for Odom as he wasn’t traded for money, cap space, or even another player but 10 baseball bats. I suppose it could be worse, he could have been traded for one. And just in case you don’t believe this story, here is the link which is the proof that it happened.

About two weeks ago I splurged and got a 32 gb iPod touch. Readers may remember that I was really excited about that, long ago. Now that I have one, and have been attached to the thing for a couple weeks, I will let you know what I think of it.

Pros:

  • Music sounds great, better than my old iPod (4th Generation w/o color).
  • Video looks amazing on it
  • Also works as a PDA
  • Photo Feature is really cool. Easy to whip it out to show friends photos of good times.
  • Wifi is ok. Nice to have the mobility with the internet.

Cons:

  • Can’t adjust volume when in the horizontal mode
  • Can’t adjust volume when using other apps, so it slows things down when having to go back to the music screen.
  • Album scroll can be a bit confusing when using a play list
  • Battery can get sucked up if you use the iPod Touch a lot, especially when using internet.
  • WiFi browser is slower… but not too slow.
  • Have to be at a WiFi spot to use internet (I knew that already but it sucks when you want to use it and you can’t login to the WiFi hot spot).

All in all I would give the device a 9 out of 10. It is a huge step from my non color iPod, which again, was 4th generation. I carry the thing with my everywhere as it is an awesome device, which I most of the tools that it has to offer. I can’t tell you if I would prefer it over an 80 gig iPod classic as they really are different types of devices. This iPod Touch truly is amazing though.
